Ashtakaala Avadhana Pallavi Demonstration

About Avadhana Pallavi:-
Not many would have heard of Avadhana Pallavi and it is rather rare to have seen people performing Avadhana Pallavi!!!. Avadhana Pallavi is a classical form of singing a composition, set to two different time cycle using left and right hands. In Karnataka's history the only person to have introduced Avadhana Pallavi is "Ganakala Bhushana" Pallavi S.Chandrappa.

Avadhana Pallavi Demonstration:-
Pallavi Gana Sabha (Regd.) Bangalore, established in memory of Avadhana Pallavi exponent “Ganakala Bhushana” Pallavi S. Chandrappa, is celebrating its 20th year composer’s day on Sunday May 30th 2010 at Sree Kanyaka Parameshwari Temple Auditorium, Malleshwaram 8th cross, Bangalore – 03 (Ph: 080-23311113).

To mark the occasion, in tribute of late Pallavi S. Chandrappa, a special and rare programme on Ashtakaala Avadhana Pallavi demonstration will be presented by Vidwan C. Varada Raja accompanied by J.K. Shridhar on Violin, Anoor Dattatreya Sharma on Mridanga, S.V. Giridhar on Konagolu, Amruth Kumar on Morching at 5p.m. Also there will be Sangeetha Seva by various artists from 3p.m to 5p.m followed by Gosti Gayana at 6.30. At the end of the programme Renowned Mridanga Exponent A.V Anand will be felicitated by Chief Guest N.S Krishna Murthy former director of All India Radio. Smt. Pallavi S. Chandrappa and Dr. M. I was born on 15th Sep 1950 in a distinguished tranditional family of musicians in Bangalore on 15th Sep 1950. I am a Classical vocal musician having been trained under the able Guidance of my father & guru Great Stalwart & Versatile Avadhana Pallavi Singer “Ganakala Bhushana”, “Karnataka Kalatilaka”, “Laya Yogi” Pallavi S. Chandrappa. My great grand father and grand father were also musicians.

I have been performing for over four decades through out the country in all leading Sabhas, music festivals, doordarshan, and many other occasions along with my late father and individually. I have performed rare and intricate Avadhana Pallavi demonstrations in various musicians conferences, vidhwat sessions and on special occasions including Shri Muthuswami Dikshithar, Shri Thyagaraja and Shri Purandhara Dasa Kritees in rare Ragas.
